The .Tel infrastructure offers the possibility to protect some (or all) entries of your .Tel domain. By protecting an entry you make a visibile to a choosen group of people. (This is technically solved by encrypting the content of the NAPTR record.) In order to setup a friend status with a .Tel domain, you need to register at http://telfriends.tel/login_input.action, once you have verified your account, you can start requesting friend status.

Please note that most of the .Tel domains are not yet live and/or their holders have not yet received their TelHosting login credentials, so it may take some time (a few days to weeks) until your friend status will be validated. The process is eventually a little bit more complicated than what you’re used with social networks, but that impression will change when there are 1M .Tel domains 😀
